Youth Activities
At Penrallt we are committed to providing a wide range of stimulating activities for our children and young people, recognising that they are the church of tomorrow as well as a vital part of today's church.
Sundays
The morning service starts with about half an hour of all-age worship. After this, the children leave the main service for their Sunday schools. There is also a crèche for the youngest children. The older teenagers (the A-Team, aged 14-18) also go out for their own study, usually accompanied by coffee and doughnuts, later on in the service. Visiting children and young people are warmly invited to join in these activities, and will be shown to the appropriate group for their age.
During university term-time, members of the A-Team are welcome to join the students and other young adults at Faith Café after the evening service.
Midweek
We have a Friday evening youth group called Revolution; this is aimed at anyone aged 12 - 18 and runs on alternate Fridays, excluding holidays. There is also a new group for primary school kids (5-11), called the JAM Club, which runs on the other Fridays. See the calendar on the news page for the dates of each group. We are hoping to make both these events weekly after Christmas - watch this space for information.
The young adults of Penrallt sometimes invite the older teenagers (14+) to their events. One of their favourite Saturday evening activities is to hold a jazz café, where young people can come to chill out, chat and eat toasties and cakes to the accompaniment of live jazz.
ENW
Aimed at teenagers who are interested in coming to church but don't feel they would fit in at an adult service, ENW is a youth service run by and for the young poeple of Bangor and the surrounding areas, usually on Saturday evenings. It has a mixture of good, loud music, drama, creative ways to pray, short talks about the Bible and how to be a Christian (no heavy-duty sermons here), and plenty of food. ENW usually runs once or twice per term.
For details of the next ENW event, please see our news page.
